The ‘Gloria’ vineyard, 1Ha of Pinot Noir on an east facing slope a mix of MV6 and 115 clones, was picked on the 11th and 14th of March. The grapes were sorted and chilled overnight and then transferred to a 2500L fibreglass and 2000L Jarrah vat as 90% destemmed fruit and 10% whole bunches. During fermentation grapes were gently pumped-over twice a day and maceration was for 3 weeks. Elevage was for 11 months on full lees in a single 1800L foudre. The wine is bright, acid driven and red fruited with cherries and spice on the nose, it has a dark bramble core with a generous mid pallet from extended cold maceration and slow extraction of tannins.
