2020 VDF 'Pelo' Cabernet Franc Chenin Blanc

Names after Oliver's grandfather Pierre 'Pelo' who taught him about wine when he has a youngster. This one is Cabernet Franc with whole bunch Chenin thrown in for good measure. Names after Oliver's grandfather Pierre 'Pelo' who taught him about wine when he has a youngster. This one is Cabernet Franc with whole bunch Chenin thrown in for good measure. It brings a different aromatic dynamic to the mix. There is alot of attention to detail here in the cellar. After the Chenin fermented for a few days, whole bunch Cab Franc was added on top together with one direct press to submerge the bunches. After a 9 day infusion he racked the free jucie and a gently press in the vertical press. The free juice and the press juice came back together for the final fermentation. 

Lightly coloured and a nose full of bright plum and green herbs before diving into a palate of ripe red stone fruits. Its got nice crunchy acidity and a fine line of tannin throughout and great length. A real treat.
