Oyaji Gokuraku Junmai Ginjo Sake in Cup
Junmai Ginjo sake crafted by Chiyomusubi sake brewery in Tottori prefecture (which has been making sake since 1865). Tottori Prefecture is famed all over Japan for a manga called 'Gegege no Kitaroo', a story featuring all kinds of ghosts. This little cup features the story's hero, Medama Oyaji (One Eye Old Man). Like the best of us, Oyaji enjoys his baths inside a ramen bowl. 'Gokuraku Oyaji' means 'old man having a great time!'
You, too, can have a great time with this pure rice sake. Made with Kyoryokumai rice polished to 50%, it has a mild nose of minerals and sugar cane, which opens up to a well balanced palate with hints of confection, anise and five spice. Clean, crisp layers of silkiness speak to white wine drinkers. Aperitif perfection.
