Yuri Zinenko makes tiny-batch wines in a small shed surrounded by an acre of vines in Keilor, Melbourne. Yuri loves to do everything himself on site, by hand, and he recently bought a letterpress to take that a step further. This Chardonnay's label was letterpress printed on bamboo stock, mounted, cut and stuck all in the shed, so the labels are almost as beautiful as the wines inside. Crafted from Grampians Chardonnay, wild fermented with extensive lees contact and stirring. Minimal sulphur added due to a slow natural malolactic fermentation. This Chardonnay is pretty phenominal. It has all the delicate citrus and lively acid upfront that you want in a Chardy, but ends on a delicious glazed brioche leesy note. So perfectly balanced; it tastes like harmony. Storm? What storm?
