2020 Morello Noir
Yuri Zinenko makes tiny-batch wines in a small shed surrounded by an acre of vines in Keilor, Melbourne. Yuri loves to do everything himself on site, by hand, and he recently bought a letterpress to take that a step further with his labels. Yuri's 2020 Morello Noir features equal parts Pinot Noir and Morello Cherries. That's right. Cherries! Fruits were wild fermented separately (cherries underwent carbonic macerated for a number of months) before they were brought together in old oak barrel for 9 months. What an in-your-face cherry rush! Bright and beaming, with trademark cherry notes underpinned with serious vinous grip. Beautiful acid backbone. Do yourself a favour.
