Birdsnake - Tanzania 70% Cocoa Chocolate

Insanely good choco handcrafted in Fairfield, Melbourne, by Freddie. Cocoa beans from Kokoa Kamili, a social enterprise in the Kilombero District of southern Tanzania. The Birdsnake team love the way these beans hold fruity and chocolatey notes in abundance. Coupled with just two other ingredients – organic cane sugar and cocoa butter – this delightful dark bar exudes flavours of strawberry yoghurt, hazelnut and cream.

This is bean to bar chocolate, meaning the cacao seeds are roasted and then processed into chocolate in house – as opposed to sourcing them pre-made from overseas. Freddie has direct communication with his cacao producers and pays them a much more motivating price that is not related to the commodity market. A delicious alternative to cheap, non-ethically sourced chocolate.
