Ochota Barrels - 2020 Weird Berries in the Woods Gewurztraminer

"Lychee, tangello blossom, lavender, miya lemon and manuka honey can be detected far from the glass. A rose petal infused lemongrass entry followed by chalky, mandarin skinned texture, forming a foundation for the jasmine and ginger infused nervy acid line which finishes long and bright.

Gewurztraminer planted in 1999 and farmed organically. Sprawl trellising to encourage uneven ripening for natural acid with gwertzy elements. Handpicked mid-February. Whole bunch pressed with full solids to seasoned French barriques. One barrel of five on skins for 2 days. Indigenous yeast fermentation. Weekly batonnage for 6 weeks. Carefully gravity racked." – Taras Ochota
