2018 Bianco Cataratto
Ciello’s 100 hectares of vineyards in the Alcamo hills in southern Sicily were converted to organic farming after the Vasco family took control over a decade ago. They are one of the only organic and low intervention producers in the region. This wine is made from the indigenous Sicilian grape Catarratto, picked early for natural acidity and fermented naturally on its skins to create a textural amber wine. Loads of fresh tropical fruits, lemon pith and grapefruit with an oily, silken finish. Bottled unfined/unfiltered. A medium bodied white with balls enough to stand up to foods with a punch.
