Second release by Phoebe Grant, who spent her formative years among the 1000-or-so Nebbiolo vines her parents planted that gently flow up the hill of her backyard in Beechworth. How very fitting, then, that her first wine is 100% Nebbiolo. Fruit was sourced from the Corsini family vineyard on Waywurru country. The Corsinis were pioneers of growing Italian varieties in the region, and they have farmed using organic practices from the get go (not certified).
Spring florals prance around the palate in the prettiest performance, partnered by almost-ripe strawberry, perky peach, flirty fennel and tangy tangerine. Salinity and savouriness linger behind the curtains, just enough for us to spot them. So energetic and zippy. Best enjoyed with your bestie [or beastie] in the sunshine.
