A full bodied rose from Cobaw Ridge’s biodynamic vineyard in the northern end of the Macedon Ranges. It's Shiraz, but you wouldn't pick it. Cloudy pale salmon in hue, it gallops around your gob in zippy strides bringing to mind herbs, orange zest, pomegranate and red current. The nose is floral, zesty, wearable. Fruit was hand harvested and naturally fermented – part in old oak and part in qvevri. The style here borders on Provence natural wine with some light red inflections. Due to the tiny yield in 2020 this wine is more limited than usual.
Il Pinko has been described as one of Australia's greatest rosés. Just saying.
