2019 Duc de Nauves
Claret at its very finest! Easy drinking Bordeaux at an achievable price point is as rare as hen’s teeth but by golly have Château le Puy provided! This blend of Merlot, Cab Franc and Cab Sauv is fleshy, jubey and is reminiscent of old English writers sitting back in their chairs singing the praises of Claret. Indulge.
Jean-Pierre Amoreau and his son Pascal farm a small 50 hectare vineyard in the 'Côtes de Francs' region of Bordeaux. The farming over the years in Bordeaux has improved dramatically in concentrated areas, much owing to the success and example led by Château le Puy. They have been around since 1610, producing some of the finest examples of not only biodynamic Bordeaux, but fine-boned Bordeaux in general. They are clear, precise and worth the time to mull over.
