Tokoname Ware Peony Yunomi Cup - Made in Japan
Tokoname ware is a type of Japanese pottery, stoneware, and ceramics produced in and around Tokoname, Aichi, in central Japan – the location of one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan! Pottery made in Tokoname dates back to the 12th century. Whoa. Tokoname ware has a beautiful brownish red color that comes to life when the iron-rich clay emerges from the kiln, the shine of which is known to get deeper as time goes by.
This beautiful Yunomi cup has been engraved with a peony flower. When we unpacked it, it brought a smile to our faces – just so pretty! The cup is incredibly fine and soooo smooth.
