The wines of Domaine Cordier, such as this lovely Bourgogne Blanc, are great examples. Using fruit from the Macon, the Chardonnay expresses richly - candied fruit, walnuts and vanilla, helped along with fresh lemon and cream. Domaine Cordier was established in 1930 by Roger Cordier, with five hectares of vines based in Macon and Pouilly-Fuissé. Up until 1987 the fruit was mainly sold to negociants, before Christophe Cordier took over winemaking responsibilities. Always plenty of character in these wines.
